How much will this cost you?
The Board of Directors of the Warrenton Fire Protection Dist. is proposing a sales tax of one-half of one percent, for the purpose of providing revenues for the operation of the Warrenton Fire Protection District!
How it works!
The total property tax levy on properties in the Warrenton Fire Protection District will be reduced annually by an amount, which reduces property tax revenue by an amount equal to fifty percent of the previous year's revenue collected from this sales tax!
What Have We Done?
The Warrenton Fire Protection District has made major cuts to the operating budget while maintaining a high level of service to the community. After several failed attempts at a property tax increase, we have listened to the community! The District has sought alternative sources for funding, through budget cuts, sale of assets, and grants. This has allowed the District to maintain service to date, but these are short term solutions to funding.
What will we use these funds for?
The District intends to use the proceeds for the purpose of providing quality emergency services to the community by keeping current staffing levels, maintaining all three fire stations within the District, acquiring needed equipment, and ensuring access to appropriate training for its staff.
